Session on ‘Legal Services: Strengthening Framework in the ever evolving environment of Governance, Compliance and Technology’
I am pleased to extend an invitation to participate in the 4th Global Exhibition on Services (GES) 2018 being organized by the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India in partnership with the Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC), India and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai from May 15-18, 2018.
The upcoming GES is expected to have participation from about 100 countries and will also host over 30 knowledge sessions and a large number of B2B, B2G & B2C meetings. As many as 24 State Governments of India are also expected to participate.
In terms of contribution of GDP, FDI, exports, and employment generation, services are becoming a dominant driver of economic growth, both in developed and developing countries. Among these services, one of the sectors of focus during GES is the Legal Services. The Indian legal services industry is growing at a rate of about 40% p.a. and is expected to grow at a similar pace in near future.
In view of the above, a Session with the theme ‘Legal Services: Strengthening Framework in the ever evolving environment of Governance, Compliance and Technology’ is being organized to highlight the convergence of compliance and good governance and how sound and robust legal services is vital for the industry in the current era of digitisation. The Session is scheduled on Wednesday, May 16 at 10 am.
The objective of this Session is to encourage discussion and exchange of ideas among business, government, professionals, academia and relevant stakeholders to understand how legal services are impacting the industry.
